Estamos empezando con tres escudos y un análisis bajo demanda. El Web Shield, junto con el escudo de correo, Mail Shield, comprobará la gran mayoría de los datos entrantes de Internet. avast! Free Antivirus para Mac también está equipado con un escudo de archivos, File Shield, que analiza todos los programas almacenados y se ejecuta desde el disco duro. Todo va en una nueva interfaz gráfica de usuario.
